Despite a recent Bloomberg poll showing Palin at a 60 percent disapproval rating and an overall approval rating at 28 percent, Sarah Palin embarks on an “international” tour, no doubt to show off her ability to do foreign policy. Ahem! Since when does accepting a $100K gig (that’s what Palin’s speaking fee has been to date) to speak at a two-day conference in India with a pit stop in Israel amount to an international tour? I intend no disrespect to the good people of either India or Israel, but really. I’ll bet if there was no speaking engagement – to pay for her trip – there’d be no “tour.”
Knowing our slum-moose millionaire’s penchant for stretching the truth and coming up with non-sensical commentary on just about any subject, some of us wish we could be a fly on the wall – at least in India.
While folks in the GOP and Tea Party ranks continue to distance themselves from her, Palin’s actions makes it seem as if she really thinks she has a chance in 2012. Maybe we’re all focusing on the wrong issue. Its not whether Palin is running but which party she plans to run for. Maybe she’ll start her own. Meanwhile, Charlie Sheen continues to steal the thunder.
