Over the weekend, the annual Perseid Meteor Shower took place. I’m located in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it’s hard to get away from all the light pollution. I thought for hours of where I could go watch the amazing event. This year was the first year that I decided I would try to find the darkest environment in my town after being inspired by the night sky I saw 2 years ago in Alaska. I took a gamble with a local regional park a few miles away from where I lived. To be honest, it wasn’t too bad.
As the night progressed, it suddenly got darker and the stars were a lot more visible. Falling meteors where everywhere along the sky, but they were so spontaneous that it was difficult to shoot and impossible to predict. Not only that, but they were amazingly fast and faint that my camera probably didn’t detect them.
