Hartford City Council will Vote on Arizona Boycott May 10th

On Monday night, May 10th, Hartford City Council will vote on item 50, A Resolution to Boycott the State of Arizona, offered by City Council Minority Leader Luis Cotto, with regard to their law which promotes racial profiling.

Here’s what you can do to support:

Call:  Contact information (emails and phone numbers)  for Hartford City Council members can be accessed at http://www.hartford.gov/government/council/Council%20Staff.htm

Attend the City Council Meeting: Come to the meeting in support the resolution. The public comment portion begins at 6pm. Signup is put out exactly at 6pm. Bring a sign/banner saying “I support item #50” or similar language in support of the Resolution. On- street Parking around City Hall is no charge after 5pm and the Library parking lot across the street is also at no charge.

  1. Thank you for the emails and phone calls. The measure to denounce Arizona and restrict travel and contracts with that state passed 8-0 (with one abstention) !!!
