$40 million vs. $8 million and Wisconsin GOP still lost two seats.

Some see this as a victory for the GOP in Wisconsin — headlines claim, “Republicans take 4 seats in recall …” But the reality is Republicans, despite an obscene amount of money (Koch brothers), held onto four seats and lost two seats.

So what should we take away from this? Democrats had a taste of Koch brothers’ money on the ground on a state level and know what they have to do. Republicans (especially the Tea Party) should recognize that despite their deep pocket donors, the rest of us are beginning to chomp — not just nip — at their heels.

UpTake put together a great video of Wisconsin voter reactions. The best message for Gov. Walker was made by a woman in the video who stated, “I don’t want to live in a kingdom. I want to live in a democracy.”
