I felt like starting this post with, “What is wrong with these people? (GOP)” I quickly realized, however, that that would be a meaningless exercise since it’s clear to me and most likely everyone else, the GOP is just doing what it does best: say anything, no matter how ridiculous and even if it is harmful to our military in the field, that is against the President. For all the heated conversation about starting a war with Iran, I say to each Republican leader, “You go first! And if not you, then send your child, your spouse or significant other.”
In the real world: Most recently, six British soldiers are presumed dead after their armored vehicle was struck by an explosion in Afghanistan. UK Defense Secretary Philip Hammond said, “This tragic incident brings home to us the dangers that are faced on a daily basis by the men and women of our armed Forces deployed in Afghanistan.” [....]
War is nothing to fool around with. We are safer, our men and women in the armed forces are safer and better for it to have the sound judgment of President Obama’s foreign policy and leadership. As for the current GOP presidential candidates, Sen. John Kerry is on point to call out Mitt Romney for his “sloganeering,” and creating “false differences with the president just to score political points.” [....] Most important, listen to the President in his own words!
