Are we helping the GOP to drive down Pres. O’s ratings?

I believe a good barometer for determining whose listening to the GOP lies about America, our economy, gas prices rising, the President and just about anything they have to say besides their base is how the rest of react to their panic attacks. The President’s ratings rise when Americans stop listening to the GOP because we are experiencing a strengthening economy, a continuing “bull market,” and so much more under his leadership.

If you don’t believe that, ask yourself has the economy taken a turn for the worse while you were sleeping last night? Did the stock market crash and no one told you? No. The GOP machine has gone into warp drive doing their best to create panic among voters by pushing harder on social issues they made up to attack the President. The goal is to enable their lack luster candidates to have at least a remote chance of winning in the fall. They’re flooding the airways with conservative pundits and GOP leaders who, while talking about the GOP primary, veer off topic and inject how the President has been the worst thing for us.

Do yourself a favor, stop listening and share what’s really going on. Stories about our economy getting stronger and consumer confidence rising are not hard to find. Here’s one worth sharing. According to Bloomberg News, “Retail sales in the U.S. rose in February by the most in five months, reflecting broad-based gains that indicate the world’s largest economy is picking up even as gasoline costs climb.”

The 1.1 percent advance matched the median forecast of 81 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News and followed a 0.6 percent increase in January that was larger than previously estimated, Commerce Department figures showed today in Washington. Demand improved in 11 of 13 categories, including auto dealers and clothing stores.

If you think Bloomberg has gotten it wrong, head out to your local mall and try to find a parking spot close enough not to warrant a shuttle bus. How full is the popular restaurant in your neighborhood? Check to see if there are any new business signs being posted on once empty store-front windows.

Most important, no president can control gas pricing. Remember the words of Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, “So the next time you hear politicians say that he or she can bring down gas prices, its complete B.S.” Read the full article above and look for others like it, then share it with everyone you know. As for me, I’m headed out to lunch at one of my favorite restaurants in City Market. The food is excellent. The price is right and all I need is to have on dry clothes and shoes. On the menu, creole shrimp over grits paddies, nestled in a bed of spinach sautéed in butter and garlic, and a glass of Pinot Grigio to wash it down.
